About Me

Reflecting on how my deep Saltwater Sussex roots might benefit clients has brought forth some genuine insight. Living in the Delaware beach area since 1962, my roots are deeply, firmly planted here in Eastern Sussex County where I've played, raised my family, worshiped, worked and run businesses. I love Sussex County, her people and her long, interesting history. This background allows me to help clients using a unique perspective.

Why I became a licensed REALTOR:

Being a REALTOR allows me to combine two things I love: research and helping people.

I've learned the importance of maintaining high standards, earning a good reputation and that "a rising tide lifts all boats." Having a comprehensive, insider/local perspective gives me an intuitive grasp of both the back story and likely future trends in local real estate and it's extremely satisfying using this knowledge to help others-- introducing the right people to each other, negotiating win-win transactions and helping others fulfill their dreams is gratifying indeed.

Honoring high principles is what earned me a Governor's Tourism Award, Good Samaritan Award and Good Neighbor of Business Award in my former advertising, marketing and publishing career. The same principles, skills and work ethic are now enabling me to assist real estate clients.

Why I chose to affiliate with Crowley Associates:

I chose Crowley Associates Realty because of its stellar 40+ year reputation of offering the best possible service and always going the extra mile for clients.

I'm a firm believer that family-owned, independent businesses are the backbone of America. As one of the area's few remaining family-owned/operated real estate firms, Crowley Associates is a good fit for me. I like having the flexibility to continue offering creative and individualized client services, because every client and every transaction is unique.

Cookie cutter services are not Crowley's style, nor mine. Additionally, the small well-trained staff here makes genuine client confidentiality possible. That's important to my clients.

A little personal information about me:

I have two grown children, a grand-daughter. I come from a very loving, colorful family. And, we all like staying busy!

My daughter, Joan, is establishing a Clinical Herbalist/Nutritionist practice, Plant Wisdom Within, here in the beach area. My son-in-law, Andrew, recently left the admissions department at the Severn School near Annapolis, MD, to work full time at Dogfish Head Brewery. The magnificent Molly, who just turned 7, stays busy tending her own garden, making cards and gifts. My son Chad, artist, philosopher, musician, inventor and fixer of all things, is a true modern-day Renaissance man. My younger brother manages the Rehoboth Beach Water Treatment Plant and operates his own "field-of-dreams" public golf course, Shamrock Golf Par 3, in Milton, DE. My sister works with Sussex County's homeless at The Ace Center in Seaford, DE and writes poetry. My elder brother is a farmer in West Virginia, currently building his dream home. And my 87-yr-old father, a retired science teacher/environmentalist /farmer/painter, is now busy composing his own unique style of music.

Besides being a full-time REALTOR- research hound (which is different than a book-worm!), I eat and cook organic, walk the beach, cycle local trails, sing and play guitar. I began singing for my supper and tips at the original Back Porch Cafe in Rehoboth in the 1970's. Since then, I’ve sung background vocals on a few recordings (with Rehoboth Beach's own internationally-known singer-songwriter, Doug James). I also sing at weddings, funerals, festivals, fundraisers and lead worship singing at Bethel United Methodist Church when asked.

My husband and I are former card-carrying clowns. We entertained thousands with family fun magic shows in the mid-Atlantic region--including some of the nation’s top political leaders and their families on the 2000 Republican National Convention’s Ferry Cruise. Charlie still performs magic shows as Magic By CharlieWe are also volunteer at the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival and other local events. You may have seen Charlie on the Discovery Channel's show Punkin Chunkin. He volunteers as the Pit Boss for the World Championship Event each year (he's the one who yells 'Fire in the Hole!" and tells them when to fire.) Full time, he sells building materials at Quality Roofing Supply.

I also have a dog named Daisy and cat, Katie.

In my spare time? ... I dust and vacuum.
